The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
